Dogs find us anglers so attractive!

These are pictures of a typical angler's set up showing the potential for tension between beach users and real hazards to pets. There are no trees or lamposts on the beach, shelters, tripods, buckets, lunch boxes and flasks are inviting targets.

Bait including worms, squid, sandeels are commonly used and are not recommended for dogs digestive systems.

Baited hooks may well be hanging from rods, tripods or even laying on the beach but invisible at a distance. Dog + Hook = £400 vet bill!

We highlight this to our members and dog owners, simple precautions are all it takes to make a difference.
