LISA-ID operates in conjunction with Sussex Police, it aims to help identify and return lost and stolen tackle.

Your LISA membership number is etched in a suitable place on rods and reels there are engraving devices but a tile cutting drill bit worked effectively in trials.

You submit the details of your kit and it is added to a database which simply lists your number and the equipment, the submission is made by an online form in the 'member area'. In the event of loss or theft the number identifies the owner via the members list. The description of the kit and LISA-ID number will be circulated via a LISA Alert so that members and affiliated groups are made aware in case these items are offered for sale. Information supplied could lead to an arrest and/or recovery of lost or stolen equipment.

If equipment is handed in to or recovered by the police they can contact us to identify the owner. Similarly the police can be advised of the number on missing or stolen items.

Looking forward it is hoped tackle shops will offer to engrave your membership number on newly purchased items and we hope to work with insurance companies which could lead to lower premiums in the future.
